Letter of Hope 2007
Gathering the hopes of Americans in their letters and sending them to space.
|
A year has passed since Joan and I left Seattle WA and embarked on a journey that gave evidence that hope is alive in America. Thousands have etched that hope on paper and left me with the responsibility of getting them into the heavens.
And now I've finally received the launch date from NASA. It's October 8th! I received the news earlier this week and the word is spreading that we will find the hopes of America going into space as planned. Joan and I will be at the Kennedy Space Center to watch NASA send the hopes into the heavens!
"Mission Completed"
St. Paul, Minnesota letter carrier Gary Fitch rode a bicycle from Seattle, Washington to Washington DC to ask for letters of hope and share his hopes on his journey this past summer. And his "journey" still continues as he strives to receive letters of hope from everyone!!
Stay tuned because even though the ride itself is done, our journey of hope is far from over!

The NALC is using this as a fundraising vehicle for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, but it is not the primary goal of the ride.
